This technique has been employed in many experimental paradigms to assess the modulation of Vitality Forms in ethological contexts, measuring the position of the hand in X/Y/Z coordinates at each moment in time.
Here is an example of an experimental kinematics paradigm, in which a video clip is shown where an actor passes a bottle to the participant, or asks the participant to pass it to him.
